December 3, the Feast Day of Fr Francis Guezou, was celebrated as Founder’s Day in a fitting way of paying him the tribute. Fr Thaddeus explained the significance of the celebration. Mr. Abraham Moses, James Selvaraj, and Ezhilarasi representing BIPL and BOSCO ITS, shared their memories and experience with Fr Francis Guezou. Speakers invariably stressed the qualities of Fr Guezou namely, champion of the poor, respecter of all, man of action, principle and punctuality.

Fr KM Jose, Rector, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, the Chief Guest of the Day highlighted, “the hardships, agonies, struggles and misgivings” that were the daily lot in the life of Fr Guezou. And yet, it is the love for the poor and the less privileged that urged him on with an iron heart. In his presidential address, Fr Vincent Durairaj portrayed Fr Guezou as a “man for all in the midst of complexity”.

In the afternoon, planting of drumstick sapling by BIIT students in the homes of students from St Charles Higher Secondary School was carried-out. This green drive is understood to be a sign of life and growth of the humanitarian activities undertaken by Fr Guezou. Guezou Illam children performed their splendid cultural event to enthrall the audience who gathered in the evening for this Founder's Day celebration.
