Diploma programmes of BIIT are grouped under four disciplines (four parts) with a specified set of faculty members for each discipline.

Computer Science (related to IGNOU BCA Curriculum, CDAC’s DMOA & FA Curriculum & Fundamentals in Computing)

Information Technology (related to industrial exposure, preparing the students for an area of specialization in IT)

Foundation Studies
Number of Credits per Semester is 20. A Credit is equivalent to 30 hours of contact classes and 30 hours of individual work, which includes self-study, assignment, seminar preparation, additional reading and other related works by individual student. A student has to apply minimum of 1200 hours (20 x 60) of academic work per semester. A record of the hours spent by each student is maintained using a time management tool. As per the distribution of credits, the contact hours for each subject are fixed. The hours allotted thus, is the minimum required time for a specific subject. However, some extra working days shall be allotted, in order to comply with extra classes as required by faculty or students.
